Ruling Could Spell Trouble for REIT M&A Challenges
In what's being called a landmark opinion, a Maryland judge has tossed a shareholder class action over a $721 million merger of real estate investment trusts, ruling that deal protection mechanisms long accepted by Delaware judges are also kosher under Maryland law.
